It takes about three ounces of oil to make a new inkjet cartridge. Recycling helps lower this a considerable degree.
In North America, more than 40,000 tons of plastic and metal are saved from landfills annually as a result of cartridge recycling. For every 100,000 used cartridges recycled, we can save 9599 kilograms of aluminum, 40 tons of plastic, and 1,000,000 liters of oil.
It is estimated that cell phones are discarded after 18 months of use. Cell phones contain many toxic substances that pose a major threat to public and environmental health.
